For us, making connections isn’t just about meeting the people who might think of us the next time they need some financial advice. Making connections at PKF Cooper Parry is about how we share ideas, how we get on with clients and how we celebrate everyone’s success. It’s also about the legacy we leave behind – for our people, our clients and the communities that surround us.
Our charity partner is The Prince’s Trust. The Prince’s Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed. We sponsor their Enterprise programme, which supports the hardest to reach 18 to 30 year olds across the Midlands to transform their lives by building successful businesses and social enterprises. But our involvement goes further than just sponsorship. We provide coaching, mentoring and training and we invite the young entrepreneurs to sell their products to our team members at every opportunity - whether that be at our annual CP Festival or at other events in our offices.
Our target this year is to do 365 days of volunteering – that’s one day of volunteering for every day of the year. Every summer, we hold a Community Week that sees us getting out into our local communities up and down the Midlands. In August 2016, we volunteered 1,000 hours to support 29 different activities for 11 different charities. Our Community Week gets bigger and better each year, so if you’re a charity that would like us to volunteer with you, we’d love to hear from you.
Throughout the year we also run lots of other community and charity events. Our partners and directors occasionally don their aprons to sell cakes around our offices and we’re not shy about dressing up in the name of a good cause! We also know that lots of our people have charities they really care about, so we offer match funding of up to £100 and we have a Payroll Giving scheme.
