PHASE stands for ‘Practical Help Achieving Self-Empowerment’, and that’s exactly what they do; they are a charity working in Nepal with communities to provide the skills and services families need to break the cycle of poverty.
PHASE works in extremely isolated Himalayan mountain villages in Nepal. These regions have very limited resources, a harsh climate and mountainous terrain – it is a real challenge to deliver even basic services here, especially following the devastating earthquakes that shook the country in April and May 2015.
What they do
PHASE takes an integrated approach with Poor health, limited education and food insecurity are aspects of the same problem and create a cycle which prevents people from taking control of their own future.
Some of our big focuses are literacy programmes for children in schools in Nepal, and women’s education. Only by elevating people through education and literacy can we hope to give these remote communities a sustainable future.
What we’re doing
This years target is: £5,500 which with the help of Cooper Parry heroes will build a health post to support 100’s of patients in the Himalayas.
Our first CP challenge is the Wolf Run where 20 of our Cooper Parry heroes will tackle a series of tough obstacles – both man-made and natural – designed to test your mental & physical strength, skill and stamina.
